Puberty - A Time of Change This lesson focuses on helping students understand that they are entering a phase of life where they will experience many normal physical, physiological and emotional changes. With a provided worksheet, they will learn what those changes are and that some changes are gender specific and some are not. The ability to separate girls and boys for this segment, can easily be done if desired. Puberty is a time of growth and development and it is common for a young person to be infatuated with, or to have a crush on someone, and to think it might be love. A demonstration using colored balloons will clearly delineate what the attributes are for each of these three emotions - a crush, infatuation and real love.
